Mean Reviews ("we", "our", or "the app") is a social food diary for logging restaurant visits and sharing them with friends ("Meanies"). This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and password (stored securely by our authentication provider). If you activate a legacy account, we may also link your profile to a historical member number.
With your permission, the app uses your device location to show nearby restaurants on the map when you log a visit. Location is used only while you use map features and is sent to our servers only as needed to search for places.
You may create visits (ratings, notes, menu tags), comments on visits, follow other users, and submit issue reports. This content is stored so you and other authenticated users can use the app as intended.
If you enable notifications, we store a device push token and your notification preferences so we can send alerts about comments, Meanies activity, and follows.
Issue reports may include app version and platform. We use standard hosting logs through our infrastructure providers.
We use your information to authenticate you, operate your account, store and display your content, find nearby restaurants, send notifications you opt into, and improve the app. We do not sell your personal information.
Apple Maps may be used on iOS for map display.
You can delete your account at any time from My Stuff → Delete account in the app. This permanently removes your account, visits, comments, notification settings, follows, and issue reports associated with your account.
Mean Reviews is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date when we do.
