Much has been made of Sharon Stone’s age - 48 - as if it makes her too old to star in an erotic thriller or something. Poppycock, I tell ya. Personally, I like my screen vixens a little older. I want to get in a clench with Judi Dench. Know what I’m saying? I wanna creep with Meryl Streep. I wanna be eatin’ Diane Keaton. I really want to fuck Anjelica Huston.
Yet it’s the young, sprightly Stone who gets to star in a new sex romp, reprising her role as everyone’s favorite seductress/murderer. You may remember the original “Basic Instinct” - it was packaged as the second half of a matinee double feature along with “Steamboat Willie” in the 1930s.
